"Darth Vader" is a piece of the Sutter's Mill Meteorite, which fell over El Dorado County in Northern California on April 22, 2012. Studied by UC Davis geology professor Qing-zhu Yin, it has been found to be a carbonaceous chondrite, which contain materials that formed the planets of the solar system.
